1Peter 2:9 says that we are a royal priesthood, which indicates that service is the call of all believers, not a select few. AWAKE stands firm in
its belief that all Christians are "called to ministry." We are not saved just for ourselves, but to be in service, in the many different capacities that may entail.
It isn't a matter of whether or not someone is called, but rather, whether or not they have come to an awareness of their call, and whether or not they have
accepted it.
As part of our mission, we desire to develop people in the area(s) of their gifts and callings. Our credentials are simply a matter of AWAKE formally
recognizing and declaring to the world that you have done the important preparatory work, have been observed in ministry, and should be taken seriously as an agent of
God's Kingdom.
Our Pillars
1Timothy 5:22 warns us not to credential people too hastily, so we've established the following priorities to help guide our
process.
Learning and Development
One cannot effectively pour into others when their own well is dry. We priorities both the theological and spiritual development
of our ministry candidates.
Five-fold Alignment (Eph. 4:11-12)
We believe that placing people in the Body in light of their gifts is crucial to success. This pillar ensures that we identify
and craft one's development accordingly.
Mentorship and Accountability
We do ministry best when we do it in relationship with experienced leaders who can coach and encourage us, as well as provide
accountability and constructive feedback.
Platforming
Sometimes, you can be called with nowhere to serve. AWAKE works with our candidates to provide you with opportunities to
put your gifts, talents and passions to work.
